Truth of the matter is, there are countless great literary pieces on science fiction from master writers to up and coming novelists. If you’ve never read a sci-fi book before, here are a few titles we recommend you to check out.

The Charlie books of Roald Dahl

What’s amazing about Roald Dahl’s books is that people of all ages can enjoy them. “Charlie and the Chocolate Factor” and its sequel, “Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator” are great for entire families to read through. The world Dahl created is imaginative and educational. The books also have a good heart, which it shares to its readers.

“Violet Marlocke” by Craig Thompson

Breaking the mold a bit, “Violet Marlocke” is more of a graphic novel, which takes space exploration and turns it on its head. It has beautiful artwork, and a plucky cast of characters that everyone would find appealing.

“Frankenstein” by Mary Shelley

We had to think twice about including this title, but it is sci-fi – and the one of the most terrifying of the genre. Mary Shelley wrote a classic, which is by all standards, also a wonderful horror read.
