Hi there! My name is John Eilermann, and I’m from St. Louis, Missouri. I’m currently working on getting a degree in comparative literature. It is my goal to develop an understanding of literary compositions regardless of boundaries such as language, culture, and tradition. My field of study enables me to become a part of all industries, and it has opened my eyes to the things that are otherwise unfamiliar.
Many individuals my age would opt for a career in business, law, medicine, technology, and other arts. However, I chose to walk this path with the confidence that I can engage in all of those fields. In fact, the role of comparative literature majors is essential as with their help, knowledge is well passed on, and messages are delivered just the way they were intended to be.
As a child, I enjoyed literature and research so much. My favorite authors include C.S. Lewis, Roald Dahl, Nick Hornby, Ned Vizzini, Mark Salzman, and Jonathan Franzen. Reading their works has prompted me to look deeper to find the real meaning of what was written.
